Poker Face showrunners to make meta mayhem as Scream 8's screenwriters

Lilla and Nora Zuckerman, the sisters Zuckerman, best known for their work on Poker Face, will write Scream 8, picking up the pieces left behind by its overworked and often confounding predecessor. Assuming there won’t be a complete fallout between the film’s studio and its lead creatives this time, this seventh sequel will star Neve Campbell and return the franchise to its meta-horror roots. Or maybe it won’t. After all, Scream 7 was about nostalgia and deepfakes or something and had nothing to say about horror movies, despite franchise-creator Kevin Williamson returning to the series to direct an installment for the first time. At the premiere of Scream 7, Williamson already hinted that he and Campbell were “spit-balling” ideas for another one. 

“When you’re sitting on the set at three in the morning, you’re like, ‘Well, what would Scream 8 be about?’ And you just start spit-balling,” said Williamson. “And Neve had this great idea, and everyone seemed to run with it. So yeah, if this movie works and people want it, we’re here for the fans. So, if they want it, we’ll certainly give it to them.”
