Shane Gillis wrings a fourth season of Tires out of Netflix

Though it may be unusual for a Netflix series—especially a comedy—to make it to a fourth season, the streamer has platformed Gillis’ work for a while. He served as the host of the recent and rightfully controversial Kevin Hart roast where he talked about lynching the guest of honor in the process of making a joke about him being short. Since then, Gillis sold out Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia which earned him two Guinness World Records, according to Netflix’s press release: Most tickets sold for a solo comedian show, and largest attendance for a solo comedian show. (There was a discrepancy of nearly 4,000 between these numbers, for some reason.) Fellow Netflix-favorite Dave Chappelle even showed up. Of course, Gillis and his comedy partner John McKeever signed an agreement with Netflix earlier this year to keep working together, so there are more standup specials on the horizon, too, along with other series.
