Sherri Shepherd's talk show is also done (on TV, at least)

Though Sherri will end after four seasons, the door has been left open to continuing the show on another platform.

Sherri Shepherd's talk show is also done (on TV, at least)

Just hours after Kelly Clarkson shared that she’d be stepping away from her NBC daytime talk show, Debmar-Mercury, the Lionsgate-owned distribution company, announced it’d be ending a talk show of its own. Sherri, the syndicated talk show hosted by comedian and once and (now, perhaps) future Queen of Jordan Sherri Shepherd, will end its syndicated run at the end of its current season. The show has primarily run on Fox affiliates across the U.S., and while it won’t do that anymore, the distributor is leaving the door open to more Sherri on another platform.

“This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, co-presidents of Debmar-Mercury, tell The Hollywood Reporter. “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.” There’s no indication of what that other platform might be yet, but we’d venture to guess that it could be some sort of podcast or YouTube series, the daytime talk shows of today.

Sherri officially became a series in 2022 after Shepherd became the temporary host of The Wendy Williams Show. After it became clear that Williams would not be returning (at least, not anytime soon) Sherri replaced her show. In 2023, Sherri attempted to persist through the Writers Strike, only to end up shutting down due to a COVID outbreak anyway. It’s currently airing its fourth season.
