Shia LaBeouf to star in Horns
Shia LaBeouf has picked his next project, and it’s a big-screen adaptation of Joe Hill’s bestselling horror/romance novel, Horns. After he finishes filming The Wettest County In The World with Tom Hardy, LaBeouf will move on to Horns, where he will play a 26-year-old named Ig Perrish, who blacks out one night and wakes up with horns growing out of his head. While investigating the cause of his curse—which, incidentally, also causes people to tell him secrets—Perrish discovers that it’s connected with the unsolved murder of his girlfriend. (Think of it as a more devilish version of the children’s book Imogene’s Antlers.) Hill will executive produce the film while acclaimed playwright Keith Bunin—who is currently writing The Return Of The Ice Kids for Michel Gondry—will write the screenplay.
Hill, the son of author Stephen King, has been making a splash in the entertainment business: His debut novel, Heart-Shaped Box, was recently purchased by Warner Bros., while his ongoing comic-book series Locke & Key is being developed into a television show on Fox by the Transformers/Fringe/Star Trek team of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
