No matter how things shake out, someone’s getting a raw deal in “El Valero,” the eighth episode of AMC’s Preacher. Last week, Jesse Custer and Odin Quincannon had a difference of opinion on the winner of the bet they made a few weeks ago, over Odin’s soul and Jesse’s land. There’s a showdown on the horizon, but first, someone has to break the news to Emily. In this clip that the A.V. Club is exclusively premiering, we see that Miles is only too happy to be that someone.
The Annville mayor’s also the person who’s washed her gym shoes, and is helping serve breakfast. Of course, Emily’s too distraught to care, and her dismissal cancels out some of Miles’ schadenfreude, who’s suddenly not all that concerned about ensuring that her kids get a healthy breakfast.
