Bad Lip Reading has toured throughout this galaxy of pop culture, whether it’s the smooth melodies of The Walking Dead’s zombie apocalypse, the concussive jibberish of the NFL, or the redneck nuttiness of The Avengers. But now the YouTube merrymaker has turned its sights onto a further destination. Just in time for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, BLR has given the poor lip reading treatment to the original trilogy in three separate videos. And this time BLR has brought some celebrity friends to help it out!
In the clips below, BLR is joined by Jack Black, Maya Rudolph, and Bill Hader (who already has some experience voicing creatures in Star Wars) to give renditions of the original Star Wars trilogy that showcase the important aspects of the beloved saga. Whether it’s Vader’s weird eyes and weirder propensity for sending helmet pics, Luke spitting mad game during the Battle Of Hoth, or the Emperor being unable to control his lightning force abilities without more classes. It’s a fun exercise given a lot of leeway thanks to Vader’s lack of a mouth and the various other creatures and Muppets who allow for great (mis)interpretation.
