Stream all of Antarctigo Vespucci’s new power-pop concoction, I’m So Tethered

When The A.V. Club premiered Antarctigo Vespucci’s debut EP earlier this year it was presented as a one-off project between friends who were unsure if the collaboration would continue past this single EP. Started when Chris Farren (Fake Problems) went to New York to visit Jeff Rosenstock (Bomb The Music Industry!) the group emerged when the two ended up collaborating on some songs, and with a little help from their friends (The Gaslight Anthem’s Benny Horowitz, Laura Stevenson) the pair released Soulmate Stuff. These seven songs saw the mutual interests of Farren and Rosenstock all mixed together, resulting in a power-pop stew that occasionally let flavors from their other bands bubble to the top.

Yet, Antarctigo soldiers on, returning with another EP that comes seemingly out of nowhere; written, recorded, and then released all in the span of two weeks. I’m So Tethered–which is getting a physical release via Asian Man Records–reunites the band’s core with Horowitz, who plays drums on the EP, and features a few contributions from Brooklyn pop-punk band Chumped. The A.V. Club is streaming all of I’m So Tethered below in advance of the Antarctigo’s appearance at The Fest in Gainesville, Fla., which serves as an unofficial kickoff for the band’s upcoming tour with San Diego’s Hard Girls.
