Sundance discovers other Olsen sister
Sundance’s breakout star has proven to be Elizabeth Olsen, the long-rumored “lost Olsen” created from Mary-Kate and Ashley’s discarded hairs and recently loosed from her attic prison, where she subsisted on whatever food particles lingered in her sisters’ exhalations, stolen as they slept. Olsen’s dual Sundance premieres Martha Marcy May Marlene and Silent House caught the attention of Buried director Rodrigo Cortes, who’s now cast her in his upcoming paranormal thriller Red Lights alongside Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, and Cillian Murpy. The film finds De Niro playing a “world-renowned psychic,” with Weaver playing a psychology professor with Olsen as her student, whose love interest will be played by Murphy. Olsen says she gravitated toward the project because she is a “psychology junkie,” having spent her formative years whispering subliminal suggestions at her sisters through the heating vents just to see if she could make them dress like Stevie Nicks’ garage sale.
