Kara Zor-El's got 3 days to save Krypto in official Supergirl trailer

The latest offering from James Gunn's DCU zooms into theaters on June 26.

Kara Zor-El's got 3 days to save Krypto in official Supergirl trailer

So far, the glimpses we’ve gotten of Kara Zor-El, be they from Superman or from the previous Supergirl marketing, have presented her as a sort of intergalactic party girl. She’s either drunk or hungover with little able to shake her out of this mindset. But the official trailer for Supergirl, released by DC today, proves there’s at least one thing that can make her get serious and put down some roots: Krypto the Superdog, of course. So far, the canine has had (somewhat infamously) a pretty rough go of it in James Gunn’s DCU, and Kara (Milly Alcock) has had enough. 

As the trailer also shows, part of Kara’s journey this movie will be about her coming to call planet Earth her home, as her cousin Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman (David Corenswet) has so far done with aplomb. He’s here at the beginning of the clip, advising Kara to settle into her new home for the sake of her own happiness. If we had to venture a guess, she’ll eventually settle down, but it’s probably going to take an interplanetary journey to get her there. 

Alcock and Corenswet are joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa for Supergirl. The movie opens in theaters on June 26.
