TBS gives Angie Tribeca a new season and a new Bobby Cannavale
According to Variety, TBS has renewed the Rashida Jones-starring absurdist police comedy Angie Tribeca for a fourth season, with Bobby Cannavale joining the cast for the new episodes. The story doesn’t say if Cannavale will be a series regular, but it sounds like he’ll at least be around for a while. We also don’t know who he’ll be playing, though him being a wacky cop of Italian descent seems like a pretty safe bet.
In general Angie Tribeca news, it sounds like this renewal was basically a no-brainer for TBS. The show has had two consecutive seasons of growth, with the ratings going up by 13 percent for season two and another 8 percent for season three. It’s also one of the highest-rated comedy shows on cable across “all key demos,” which basically means that the important people who advertisers care about (everyone but old folks and babies) are watching this show.
Season four of Angie Tribeca will consist of 10 episodes, and it will premiere at some point next year.
