That third Tron movie is still in the works
In welcome news for fans of pondering philosophical techno-babble interspersed with the occasional neon Frisbee thrown at their face, Disney has made another serious stride toward producing a sequel to 2010's Tron: Legacy by hiring another new writer, Jesse Wigutow. A third film in the reinvigorated, if still slightly drowsy franchise has been discussed since before Tron: Legacy even premiered, while its "Insert-NewWriter" subroutine has been running ever since. Most recently, Eight Below writer David DiGilio was hired to turn his "Paul Walker in a frozen wasteland" story-crafting skills toward putting another action sort-of-star adrift in a cold and unforgiving landscape, and now it's Wigutow's turn to find a way to further Garrett Hedlund's journey through circuit city.
