It’s not unusual for a streamer to renew a show originally categorized as a limited series in response to strong viewership, popularity, or awards recognition. Series like Big Little Lies, The Flight Attendant, and The White Lotus were all originally conceived as limited series—and thank goodness the latter went beyond a freshman season, or we never would have gotten to see Jennifer Coolidge’s ditzy Tanya McQuoid utter the now famous line, “These gays, they’re trying to murder me!”
