The CW still wants to make a Supernatural spinoff, will probably involve monsters
The CW isn’t ready to give up on the idea of a Supernatural spinoff. The long-running drama was originally slated to get a spinoff called Supernatural: Bloodlines; The CW even aired a backdoor pilot for the show in April. Bloodlines was to be set in a fictionalized version of Chicago, where groups of vampires, werewolves, ghouls, and the like engaged in mob wars for control of the city’s supernatural underworld—giving tourists who are already afraid of being gunned down by real-life mobsters even less reason to visit the Windy City. The pilot wasn’t picked up, but CW President Mark Pedowitz is still interested in creating some kind of extension of the Supernatural brand. Although, he admitted in a conference call that he doesn’t yet know what form it may take. “What it is, what it isn’t, is up for discussion,” he said.
