The former Spike TV network picks up Jay Z’s Trayvon Martin documentary series
In March, we reported that Jay Z was developing both a documentary series and a narrative film about the life of murdered Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, and now Deadline says that the docu-series has been picked up by Spike TV. The six-part series doesn’t have a concrete premiere date yet, but it will be Spike’s follow-up to the Jay Z-produced Time: The Kalief Browder Story, which just concluded earlier this week and told the story of another young black man who was unjustly killed. The Trayvon Martin series will be called Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, and it will be based on the books Suspicion Nation and The Enduring Life Of Trayvon Martin.
