Dr. Mohan is taking Dr. Robby's advice and getting out of The Pitt

Throughout season two of The Pitt, both Dr. Robby and the cruel hands of circumstance have suggested to Dr. Samira Mohan that maybe the Pitt isn’t the right place to work. Now, as the season draws to a close later this month, it doesn’t look like she’s going to find some grand reason to stick around. Variety reports that Supriya Ganesh, who has played Dr. Mohan for two seasons, will not return for a third season. We presume the character will go off into the sweet, mellow world of elder care, a discipline she’s shown promise in over the run of the series.

With the announcement also comes the news that Ayesha Harris, who portrays senior night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis, has been promoted to series regular. Given that both seasons of The Pitt have started at 7 am, Dr. Ellis hasn’t been in the series a ton so far, appearing in eight episodes over the two seasons. But given that she’s about to be in the show a lot more, we see two options for season three: Either Dr. Ellis is going to start working during the day, or we’re about to see a season of The Pitt: After Dark
