The Strokes are going awfully out of their way to convince us that after years of false starts and rumors they do, indeed, have a new album coming out, the band’s first since 2006’s First Impressions Of Earth. It all started with those Facebook-spawned reports of its March 22 release date. Then came a title (Angles) and a track list. Now there’s this new single, “Under Cover Of Darkness,” which you can download from the band’s website, as well as check out via the YouTube video below. Okay, Strokes, you win. We now believe you have an album coming out. And judging by the song, that album may have a lot of the ragged, insouciant charm that made the band so great in the first place.
