The third Cloverfield movie has been delayed again
Last year, Julius Onah’s sci-fi movie The God Particle got bumped from this February to this October when it was absorbed into the vaguely defined Cloverfield series, but now the movie has been bumped back all the way to 2018. According to Variety, the now-untitled film (maybe Cloverfield Particle?) has been moved from October 27, 2017, to February 2, 2018, with George Clooney’s Suburbicon moving from November 3 to take the now-vacant October 27 slot.
The movie, whatever it will be called, is about a team of astronauts who make a “terrifying discovery” that shakes everything they thought they knew about reality. That doesn’t tell us much, and it certainly doesn’t shed any light on how it might tie in with the original Cloverfield or 10 Cloverfield Lane, but there is a reason we referred to this series as “vaguely defined.” Also, this movie is separate from Julius Avery’s Overlord, which looks like it might be the fourth Cloverfield movie. That one is set to be released in October of 2018.
