There's lots of ambiance (and little else) in the teaser trailer for FX's The Strain

Those whose biggest fear is that all TV shows will suddenly become NBC’s Revolution: Get ready to be terrified. The new teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s FX show The Strain highlights a solar eclipse and a citywide power outage in New York, all while conveniently ignoring the fact that this thing is actually about vampires. Nevertheless, there’s enough ambiance here to get del Toro fans excited, mostly thanks to some dramatic music cues, a gravely-voiced narrator, and the vaguely threatening tagline: “He is here.” Based on del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s vampire horror trilogy, the 13-episode series from Lost’s Carlton Cruse premieres this July. The parasitic vampires of The Strain are more World War Z than True Blood, so those who have been ranting against the romance that's been a part of vampire mythology since Bram Stoker's Dracula have something to look forward to this summer.
