Alan Cumming warily confronts a homophobic neighbor in the Tip Toes trailer

In the trailer for the series, which premieres on Starz on Friday, October 2, the neighbors’ uneasy coexistence is disturbed when the rigid Clive begins to question his son’s orientation, leading him down a rabbit hole of social media hate that increasingly edges closer to actual violence. Egged on by his bigoted wife (Pooky Quesnel) and with relentless internet trolls feeding his fears about the “influence” the openly gay Leo and his clientele may be having on his sons, Morrissey’s Clive and Cummings’ Leo seem destined for a shattering confrontation. 

The series debuted in England back in May to widespread acclaim, and its landing in an America more and more beset by right-wing, election season anti-LGBTQ ugliness only ratchets up the tension, and the anticipation, for its U.S. arrival even higher. The five-episode series also stars Jackson Connor, Elizabeth Berrington, Denise Welch, Iz Hesketh, Shakeel Kimotho and Paul Rhys.
