Today’s Amazon deals: A great stick vacuum and all of Tales From The Crypt
In an effort to both serve our readers and help support The A.V. Club, we are going to post daily links to deals and interesting items that we find over on Amazon. If you use these links to click through and buy something—not just the thing you clicked—on Amazon, we will see a portion of that income. You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to, but if you do, know that we appreciate it.
Hoover Linx cordless stick vacuum cleaner ($87, was $199.99)
One of Amazon’s daily deals is a real doozy today, as the site is offering a full 56 percent off on this well-reviewed Hoover stick vacuum cleaner. Stop throwing away money on Swiffer sheets, and pick this little pal up. With its rechargeable battery and bagless canister, you’ll be cleaning up quickly and easily in no time. There’s even a battery gauge, so that you’ll know when to recharge it.
LifeStraw water filters ($13.99 and up)
If you travel a lot—or just spend a decent amount of time in the great outdoors—you might want to investigate another of Amazon’s daily deals today. For just $13.99, you can get a personal LifeStraw water filter, which is essentially a straw you can use to drink straight from ponds and puddles. (They’re big in third-world countries, understandably.) If you want to go a little higher end, you can invest in a high-volume gravity-fed water purifier for about $85 or a portable LifeStraw water bottle for $26.99. While it might seem like you might not need these because you take your own water on hikes, you’ll be kicking yourself for being too cheap if you’re ever lost in the woods or stuck on Mount Everest for days at a time.
Sharkk Bluetooth waterproof shower speaker ($42.99, was $57.99)
Another Amazon Deal Of The Day lets you blast Beyoncé while you’re getting your shampoo on. This Sharkk speaker has a 60-foot range for music streaming, meaning you can basically leave your phone on your deck while you’re boogying down and getting clean. It’s fully waterproof and has a 10-hour battery life, so you’ll be fine even if you only remember to charge the Sharkk every other week or so.
