Trials Studio RedLynx Could Lose Up to 60 Positions Following Ubisoft “Restructuring Proposal”

Ubisoft has announced a restructuring proposal for the Finland-based studio RedLynx, which was acquired by Ubisoft for an undisclosed sum in 2011. The restructuring could lead to a maximum of 60 positions being lost in the production and administration teams. 

According to a statement on RedLynx’s official website, the proposal is part of Ubisoft’s global efforts to “simplify, reduce costs, and ensure a stronger prioritization and efficiency across the company’s worldwide studio network.” RedLynx will be holding collective negotiations with its staff before a decision is made, starting on Oct. 30, 2025 and concluding by the end of November. 

“This proposal reflects difficult choices we may need to make, and it comes after careful consideration. We recognize the weight of this announcement and want to acknowledge the impact this proposal may have on individuals and teams,” said Celine Pasula, Managing Director of Ubisoft RedLynx.

RedLynx is best known for the Trials racing puzzle game series. The studio’s latest project was the mobile game Gwen’s Gateway, which was cancelled in December of 2024. If the restructuring is implemented, RedLynx would be refocused from a multiplatform studio to one specialized in small screens. This would “best leverage the studio’s unique expertise,” according to the official statement, and RedLynx would start with two unannounced mobile projects the studio is leading. 

Pasula added in RedLynx’s official statement that, “we are confident that, with the proposed changes, RedLynx would continue to play a meaningful role in Ubisoft’s future—driving technical excellence on mobile devices, and strengthening Ubisoft’s cross and multi-platform capabilities on small screens to expand our audience reach.”

Only time will tell what direction RedLynx and Ubisoft take going forward, as negotiations with the teams begin at the end of October. For now, one can only hope for the best outcome for all the workers who may be affected.
