Tyra Banks is the new host of America’s Got Talent

After a period of quiet reflection, Tyra Banks is ready to dash the dreams of young hopefuls once more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Banks will help decide whether America’s Got Talent, now that Nick Cannon has left his post as host. The creator of America’s Next Top Model and the “smize” is quite familiar with the responsibility of taking someone’s ego into her hands for crushing or nurturing, which is presumably why AGT judge Simon Cowell is calling her addition “really exciting.” Howie Mandel also seems pretty pumped about the news:

For her part, Banks says she’s always “been obsessed with grandiose acts and performers who make the seemingly impossible possible,” which is what she seems to think AGT brings into “everyone’s home.” Banks also managed to work in references to being “fierce” and “smizing,” in case you’d forgotten what her qualifications for this gig are.
