Who he is: Ulysses Klaue
His power: No powers, but one heck of a beard.
His story: Ulysses Klaue appears in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. He’s a black-market arms dealer operating out of South Africa, and he’s confronted by Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Ultron, who demands all the vibranium Klaue has. Klaue accedes to Ultron’s demands, and is paid billions for it after detailing the difficulty of smuggling it out of Wakanda. However, after he notes that Ultron quoted Tony Stark—and wonders aloud if Ultron was Stark’s design—Ultron gets irritated and accidentally slices off half of Klaue’s left arm, which is a quite a “whoops” on the scale of accidental injuries. Soon, the Avengers arrive, and Klaue decides discretion is the better part of valor, escaping the situation.
Played by: Andy Serkis, not doing a motion-capture performance for a change.
Currently, Ulysses Klaue is: Nursing his wound, and probably continuing his illicit smuggling and arms dealing.
Where will we see him next? Given his Wakandan operations, it seems likely Klaue will turn up in Black Panther, currently scheduled for a July 6, 2018 release.
