And yes, that sounds sort-of similar to Pineapple Express, but what's really notable about the project is that it’s almost entirely improvised, with Walsh bringing in a cast that’s pretty well-versed in the stuff: Horatio Sanz, Rob Riggle, Abby Elliott, Lizzy Caplan, Kyle Gass, and The Office’s Zach Woods headline, with appearances from The State’s Joe Lo Truglio, Eastbound And Down’s Andrew Daly, Superbad’s Joe Nunez, The Mighty Boosh’s Rich Fulcher, and UCB veterans Brandon Johnson and Seth Morris. Future Teen Wolf remake star Dylan O’Brien is also on that list, which we’re guessing means he plays the aforementioned “16-year-old smartass.”
Walsh recently tried his hand at directing the similarly improvised sitcom Players for Spike, which gave him the confidence to try improvising an entire film; if it works, this could finally free Hollywood from the tyrannical reign of all those power-mad screenwriters.
Sadly, there's no answer yet to the question of whether it also features Bong Boy.
