Vampires take Manhattan in the trailer for The Strain season two
Entertainment Weekly has debuted the first trailer for the second season of FX’s The Strain. Executive produced by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan from their trilogy of novels, The Strain pits vampires and the Center For Disease Control against each other in the ultimate battle of bureaucracy versus evil. From the trailer, it looks like the second season of the show will be upping the action and building on the slow burn of the first year. The preview features the show’s neo-vampires overrunning Manhattan and Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) looking cool as he brandishes a big sword and vows to hunt big bad The Master until the day he dies. Meanwhile, it would appear our CDC heroes are attempting to find a cure for this vampire virus, while a new addition to the cast, Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis), declares, “We’re going to take this island back one block at a time.”
FX has also released a new teaser poster that is sort of a Patrick Nagel painting for the undead set:
The Strain will premiere on FX later this summer.
