In season two of Wednesday, the creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky faces something even scarier than her family: Security theater.

Netflix released the first trailer for Wednesday today, and there’s only one question on our minds: Why can Wednesday Addams wear shoes through airport security? CinemaSins aside, the first trailer for Netflix’s popular Addams Family adaptation starring Jenna Ortega teases thrills, chills, spills, and CGI monsters for fans to turn into “Goo Goo Muck” over. The plot remains an Addams family secret. However, the trailer hints at Wednesday getting some fun in the sun, á la Addams Family Values, before returning to Nevermore Academy for more mystery solving. Someone with glasses has been killed, and it’s up to everybody’s favorite disaffected teenager to figure it out.

To maximize its investment and generate some word of mouth around one of its shows, Netflix has broken Wednesday into two parts. The first half premieres on August 6, and the second on September 3. We also don’t understand why the streamer didn’t wait until October, but we suppose there must be a lot of summer stuff this season, considering Thing brought sunscreen.
