Weezer drop two new Black Album tracks, share Mr. Rogers-themed music video

Fresh off their Finn Wolfhard-starring video for a-ha’s “Take On Me,” Weezer are back with a pair of original songs from their forthcoming Black Album, which is slated for release on March 1. They follow previous singles “Can’t Knock The Hustle” and “Zombie Bastards,” the latter of which was actually kinda good.
“Living In L.A.,” a disposable bit of overproduced radio rock, isn’t. “High As A Kite,” on the other hand, is melodic and compelling, with Rivers Cuomo’s rip-roaring guitars bringing a bit of grit to an otherwise wispy ballad. It also comes with a pretty great music video that refashions Cuomo as a Mr. Rogers-type who terrifies a kid-heavy studio audience via diabolic riffage. Also, Pat Wilson drumming in a chef’s hat, which is good.
