The biggies

Black Mirror (Netflix, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.) 

Charlie Brooker’s dystopian sci-fi project returns with six new episodes, two of which are sequels to previous installments “Bandersnatch” and “USS Callister.” Once again, there’s a stacked cast, with Issa Rae, Cristin Milioti, Tracee Ellis Ross, Rashida Jones, Paul Giamatti, and Emma Corrin, among others, dropping into the series. Look for The A.V. Club‘s review of season seven on Thursday.


Hacks (Max, Thursday, 9 p.m.) 

Everyone’s favorite fictional comedy duo is at it again in a new round of Hacks. As Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) prepares for her long-awaited late-night hosting gig, she continues dueling with her mentee/frenemy Ava (Hannah Einbinder). Paul W. Downs, Meg Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo return alongside series newcomers Julianne Nicholson and Michaela Watkins. The A.V. Club will recap the show weekly.


Your Friends & Neighbors (Apple TV+, Friday, 12:01 a.m.)

Created by Banshee’s Jonathan Tropper, Your Friends & Neighbors stars Jon Hamm as a fired hedge-fund manager who resorts to stealing from the one-percenters around him to keep his head above water. Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, and Aimee Carrero co-star. Check out The A.V. Club‘s review of the Apple TV+ series.

Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe’s latest anime takes place in a utopian near future that crashes when it’s discovered that a popular “miracle cure” is actually about to kill everyone who’s taken it. Read The A.V. Club‘s review.


Spy High (Prime Video, Tuesday, 3:01 a.m.)

This four-episodes docuseries unpacks the case of Pennsylvania student Blake Robbins, who filed a lawsuit against his private school for allegedly spying on him. Co-produced by Mark Wahlberg, Spy High delves into what digital privacy looks like for teens today.


G20 (Prime Video, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)

In G20, the U.S. president (played by Viola Davis) tries to save her fellow world leaders during the annual summit in South Africa after terrorists take them hostage. Directed by Patricia Riggen, the thriller also stars Anthony Anderson, Marsai Martin, Antony Starr, Clark Gregg, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Douglas Hodge.
