Welcome to What’s On, our weekly roundup of notable shows. Here is what’s happening on TV from Sunday, August 31 to Saturday, September 6. All times are Eastern.
The biggies
The Paper (Peacock, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)
The documentary crew that filmed Dunder Mifflin’s employees in The Office turns their cameras on a volunteer-run newspaper in Ohio. From co-creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, The Paper centers on an editor (played by Domhnall Gleeson) determined to turn around The Toledo Truth-Teller. The ensemble also includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, and Melvin Gregg, with Oscar Nunez reprising his accountant role from the NBC hit. Look for The A.V. Club‘s review on Wednesday.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva (Paramount+, Thursday, 3:01 a.m.)
Almost a decade after they last appeared onscreen together, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo’s characters reunite in this Paris-set NCIS spin-off. In the show, Tony and Ziva—who are somehow still in an on-again, off-again relationship—go on the run with their teen daughter after finding themselves in the middle of a conspiracy plot.
