Welcome to What’s On, our weekly roundup of notable shows. Here is what’s happening on TV from Sunday, May 10 to Saturday, May 16. All times are Eastern.
New this week
The Punisher: One Last Kill (Disney+, Tuesday, 3 a.m., television special)
A week after Jon Bernthal reprised his role on The Bear for a standalone episode that he also co-wrote, the actor does the same for ruthless vigilante Frank Castle. In what’s being billed as a one-and-done “Marvel Studios television special,” Frank is trying to find meaning in his life beyond a bloodthirsty need for revenge. However, a new threat drags him back into the dangerous world of street justice for—you guessed it—one last kill. Jason R. Moore, Roe Rancell, Mila Jaymes, Nick Koumalatsos, and Colton Hill also star. Check out The A.V. Club’s reaction to the special on Tuesday.
Off Campus (Prime Video, Wednesday, 3 a.m., series premiere)
Make some room on the bench, Heated Rivalry: Here comes yet another ice-rank romance with literary roots. In Prime Video’s streaming adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s popular, college-set novel series of the same name, Ella Bright (Malory Towers) and Belmont Cameli (the Saved by the Bell reboot) star as Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, students at the fictional Briar University who concoct a fake-dating arrangement so that she can impress her real crush and he can get tutored to maintain his hockey-captain status. Lusty antics ensue—and are due to continue in the already-ordered second season, which is rumored to follow another couple from Kennedy’s books. The A.V. Club’s review will drop Monday.
