Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (director and co-writer of Anchorman and Talladega Nights) have grabbed the rights to Frank Portman's novel King Dork. Whether Ferrell will actually be in the movie isn't clear. It's one of the first ventures for the pair's new production company, Gary Sanchez Productions, which is teaming with Warner Bros. to make independent films. Don't worry, it doesn't mean they're sacrificing their kinda-infantile sense of humor—the company's first release will be The Foot Fist Way, a comedy about martial-arts instructors.
