Earlier this year, Will Ferrell interrupted a handful of spring training baseball games to promote awareness for long-suffering teams like the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds—and also cancer-fighting charities. As part of the gag, Ferrell played each of the positions in baseball (first baseman, pitcher, belly itcher, etc.) and made a stop with 10 different teams (including the San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Chicago White Sox, and the aforementioned Cubs and Reds).
HBO was filming all of these shenanigans for an upcoming special, and now it has released a teaser for said special—which will be called Ferrell Takes The Field—that depicts the Get Hard star having a little bit of baseball-related fun. Okay, it actually looks like he’s having a lot of fun, but the teaser isn’t even a minute long. There isn’t really enough time to introduce more than a couple jokes. Presumably, that won’t be the case when Ferrell Takes The Field premieres on September 12.
