Will Smith to be brilliant in next film, really
While Will Smith has shown reticence toward sequels for Men In Black and Independence Day, he’s reportedly considering another project that would see him back in the sci-fi realm and playing a federal agent, while also earning lots of money. The Wrap reports that Smith is in talks to play the lead in Brilliance, an adaptation of Marcus Sakey’s novel about a world where people with special genetic abilities, called “brilliants,” make up about 1 percent of the population. And, in this completely fictional America, the government demonstrates active concern about this unfairly advantaged 1 percent, tasking federal agents like the one played by Will Smith—who’s born with exceptional abilities of his own—with hunting down those who would use them for evil, like a brilliant terrorist bent on sparking a civil war. While Smith’s last flirtation with original sci-fi didn’t work out so great, this one can technically go ahead and put “Will Smith is brilliant” on the poster.
