Whiplash first dropped jaws a little over a year ago when it was the opening-night film at Sundance 2014. There it won the Grand Jury Prize and the accolades have been coming its way ever since. We’re pretty big fans of it here at The A.V. Club, naming it the third best film of the year and claiming its bracing climax “the best scene of the year.” On top of all of that, Whiplash is in contention for Best Picture at the Oscars this weekend, with the great J.K. Simmons a strong contender in the Best Supporting Actor race.
In celebration of a great year for a great film, The A.V. Club is giving away a special Whiplash prize package, which includes the film on DVD, a new pair of drumsticks, and the Whiplash original soundtrack.
