Kerry Washington’s production company, Simpson Street, is bringing desperation back. Wisteria Lane, a spin-off of Desperate Housewives, is in development at Onyx Collective, according to Deadline. The show will be written by Natalie Chaidez of The Flight Attendant and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fame and will focus on the sixth housewife: Wistera Lane, the cul-de-sac Teri Hatcher called home for seven seasons. Desperate creator Marc Cherry is not involved with the show, and none of the cast has been announced, though Hatcher and Eva Longoria have expressed interest in returning for a revival.

In classic Housewives fashion, the show will explore the private and public lives of Wisteria Lane’s nosey and sexy residents, with a similar mix of mystery, drama, and soap operatics as the original. Thankfully, the Wisteria Lane set from the original show still stands on the Universal backlot, where Universal Studios attendees can ride the TV shows. Assuming it goes further than development, Wisteria Lane will run on Onyx and stream on Hulu. There’s also a chance that none of this will come to fruition, and we’ll return to our Housewives-based desperation.
