A.A. Milne is shellshocked in the new Goodbye Christopher Robin trailer
Give or take the brief glimpses of the war, the first trailer for A.A. Milne biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin was almost excessively sweet. The movie is about how Milne cheered up the world with his story about a little boy and a little bear, so it would make sense that it would be pretty sweet, but this new trailer almost goes in a completely different direction. Rather than focusing on the Winnie The Pooh’s uplifting spirit, the trailer focuses on Milne’s PTSD and the way his experience in the war convinced him to tell a story about a cute bear and his cute animal friends as a way of reminding people why killing is bad.
Goodbye Christopher Robin stars Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie. It will be in theaters on October 13.
