A whole lot of people tuned in to watch Charlie Sheen on 20/20
Last night’s debut of the meme-spawning Charlie Sheen 20/20 interview was, not surprisingly, a ratings smash, with the hour-long special becoming the top-rated program among the 18-49 demographic and scoring a total of 9.5 million viewers who hadn’t heard enough “winning” references yet. Although it failed to beat The Good Wife over at Sheen’s newly targeted enemy network CBS—that show pulled in a total of 11.5 million viewers to make it No. 1 overall—it still managed to give ABC its highest-rated hour-long program in the 10 p.m. ET hour in two years, which should finally give Charlie Sheen a much-needed boost to the ol’ self-esteem. (And in case you missed it, I wrote up the interview over here at TV Club; I know it’s a bit long, but I’m running on about 3.5 hours of sleep today because of it, so please check it out.)
