According to The Hollywood Reporter, former Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi will guest star on CBS’ Person Of Interest. Mandvi—who has also appeared on CSI and in The Internship, but for some reason we have The Daily Show on our minds right now—will be playing a “bright but demanding tech tycoon” who “has a knack for making enemies.” Somehow, that knack for making enemies will result in him crossing paths with Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, and their magic crime computer.
As we mentioned up above, Mandvi used to be a regular contributor to The Daily Show, so maybe it’s no coincidence that he’s joining a network action show just as Jon Stewart is leaving his post at Comedy Central. Maybe Stewart is also joining Person Of Interest for some reason? Actually, we’re pretty confident that that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Stewart will play a former talk show host who develops an advanced artificial intelligence that can predict when Fox News will say something stupid. Here’s some sample dialogue: “Oh god, it won’t stop going off!” Anyway, Aasif Mandvi will be on Person Of Interest‘s 19th episode this season. Jon Stewart will make his first appearance some time later this year.
