Adrien Brody sets an Oscar record with long-ass acceptance speech
Brody would not be played off nor would he speed up.

Last night’s Oscars went down easy. Some good movies and also Emilia Pérez won some awards, actors and craftspeople gave lovely speeches, and Conan O’Brien moved the show along at a gentle clip. There was even time for the James Bond dancers. But towards the end of the night, as Hulu was buckling under the pressure of its self-imposed hardout, Adrien Brody took the stage to collect his award for Best Actor, his second win. With that, the show officially went off the rails as Brody struggled to give a record-setting acceptance speech that’s probably less memorable than when he forced a kiss on Halle Berry but nevertheless annoyed some people.
