Alan Cumming doesn't understand the plot of Avengers: Doomsday

 “There was a bit when we were shooting a scene, and it was one of the rare scenes when I was actually on the backlot and not in front of a blue screen,” he said. “And this man came and said, ‘So right now Alan, these giant robots are blah blah,’ and started to tell me the thing, and I was like, ‘You know what, thank you so much, but just tell me where I point my, whatever I point. And I’ll do that. Really, I just know I’m here to run around.'” 

Cumming could be talking about the Sentinels, those mutant-hunting robots from the X-Men series that appear in the Doomsday trailers and seem to be under the control of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. In  But in the slapdash hurly-burly that is Joe and Anthony Russo’s improv-loving directorial approach, the robots could be Ultron, a pack of H.E.R.B.I.E.s, or even Life Model Decoys of the Marvel Studios legal team lunging copies of Cumming’ NDA at him, who can say? As for Nightcrawler’s involvement in the plot of Doomsday, even Nightcrawler himself is in the dark—though he can tell us that he’s worked with Florence Pugh on set, or at least, Pugh’s body double. “I saw Florence Pugh [at] the Emmys,” Cumming told Morning Mash Up. “And I said, ‘Gosh, it’s so funny. I’ve never met you, but you lay on top of me, or your body double did.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah, I lay on top of you as well, but it was your body double.'” Sounds like one hell of a production over there.
