Glenn Close slaps Sarah Paulson right in the face in All's Fair season 2 trailer

Where to begin with this one? If season one of All’s Fair was meant to be inspired by primetime soaps like Knots Landing and Dynasty, our first glimpse of season two of the Ryan Murphy series—which overcame a 0% Rotten Tomatoes score to quickly earn another season—carries even more fever-dream type energy. We have to assume that some of the more brutal images and words are spared from the trailer, both to avoid spoilers and to maintain some decorum, but we still get scorpions and a clip of Glenn Close—sorry, Dina Standish—slapping Carrington Lane (Sarah Paulson) across the face mere seconds after we’re told that these are ladies of law and order. Respectfully, we don’t think Olivia Benson would have anything to do with this firm.

An official synopsis for All’s Fair‘s second season reads:

The lawyers of Grant, Ronson & Greene are back for another season of scandals, secrets, and stilettos. As new allegiances form, friendships are tested and a shocking revelation threatens the very existence of the firm.

All’s Fair also stars Kim Kardashian as Allura Grant (who didn’t pass the bar on her first try, an apparent reference to Kardashian’s own struggles), Naomi Watts as Liberty Ronson, Niecy Nash-Betts as Emerald J. Greene-Ball, and Teyana Taylor as Milan. If nothing else, this series does have some incredible character names. It returns to Hulu on November 4 after a premiere at the Rome Film Festival.
