Is the liberal answer to Joe Rogan… Amy Poehler? Even if the SNL alum isn’t setting out to make political waves, her new podcast promises to be a Good Hang. The first-time host announced the pod on Today this morning, quipping, “I checked and I’m officially the last person to have a podcast, so I figured I’d jump in.” Slightly more seriously, she continued, “These are tough times. We’re just trying to have a good laugh… I think sometimes we ask women to be kind of teachers and healers, and I’m looking for some good dumb fun.”

The show—officially titled Good Hang With Amy Poehler—will see the SNL alum have those good laughs in conversation with fellow comedians and other famous friends. She’s producing the show via her own Paper Kite Productions, in collaboration with Bill Simmons of Spotify’s The Ringer. “Amy should have one of the biggest podcasts in the world—she’s a great hang, she’s funny, she’s curious, she knows everybody and she actually loves the genre and puts real thought into what works and what doesn’t work,” Simmons said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I can’t believe she actually wants to do this. We are over the moon that we get to work with her.”

A bunch of Poehler’s friends (and potential future guests) are thrilled for her as well—or, at least, they were willing to participate in a promo video offering some decent to questionable advice on the whole business of hosting. “Just be yourself and the guests will come,” said Armchair Expert host Dax Shepard. Patti LuPone weighed in by fishing for a part, while Rachel Dratch suggested some unholy combo of a true crime and cooking podcast. (Honestly, this writer would be shocked if something like that didn’t already exist.) Even Poehler’s ex-husband Will Arnett took some time to participate, even if all he was looking for was a reminder of his blood type. You can check out the rest of Poehler’s friends’ advice below, and listen to new episodes of Good Hang weekly.
