Though it seems like George Orwell’s 1984 gets all the press, what with the whole backsliding democracy thing, Andy Serkis is mining a different Orwellian classic for his next movie. Serkis is tackling Animal Farm, Orwell’s 1945 novella that allegorized the Russian Revolution, for an animated movie that will probably feature Serkis’ motion capture skills in all their glory. Written by Kool-Aid scribe Nick Stoller, Animal Farm has enlisted the talents of Seth Rogen as Joseph Stalin stand-in and lead pig, Napoleon, per Variety. As for the rest of the farm, it will be populated by the vocal stylings of Steve Buscemi, Gaten Matarazzo, Glenn Close, Laverne Cox, Kieran Culkin, Iman Vellani, Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons, and Kathleen Turner. Serkis will also be voicing a character, as is his wont.

For those who skipped eighth-grade lit, Animal Farm follows a band of farm animals who overthrow their farmer and attempt to establish a system of government. Hewing close to the “absolute power corrupts absolutely” maxim, the pig Napoleon fills the power vacuum and establishes a growing list of rules for the farm, allowing him to sit atop the hierarchy of power, not unlike DC’s hierarchy of power that Dwayne Johnson changed with Black Adam.
