Audience for Inside Amy Schumer season premiere more male than female

As reported by Vulture’s Josef Adalian, Inside Amy Schumer drew a higher Nielsen rating among males 18 to 34 than any other TV offering Tuesday night. The show’s 2.0 rating (UPDATE: According to a Comedy Central representative, the final rating was a 2.44) bested even that of its lead-in, the forever-bro-friendly collection of online humiliations and incredulous facial expressions that make up Tosh.0. The sketch series didn’t boast cable’s largest overall viewership—that, as ever, belonged to a repeat of The Big Bang Theory—but in the qualified standards of a network that Inside Amy Schumer itself identifies as “male-skewing,” this is still a major victory. (Regardless of that same sketch’s satirical implication that these viewers are tuning in less because of Schumer’s sense of humor and more because of her looks.)
