Skydance doesn't have time for Barbie 2 questions right now

Hold your horses—you won’t be partying with Barbie any time soon. “Too early to talk about that,” Ynon Kreiz, the newly appointed co-CEO of Skydance, said when asked for a status update on a Barbie sequel, Deadline reported. It’s a valid question for Kreiz, former CEO of Mattel, the company behind the lucrative Barbie brand, and one he, of all people, is equipped to answer. But it’s only been a day since Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Skydance officially merged into a conglomerate run by Kreiz and David Ellison, and it seems like the company’s focus is currently on reorganizing and downsizing the workforce and figuring out how else to climb out of a reported $80 billion in debt. When the company does eventually turn its attention to profitable IPs, it’ll probably look to Barbie.
