Beef goes to the country club in season 2 teaser

There’s been a fairly surprising amount of golf-related media over the past couple of years, from the return of Happy Gilmore to Owen Wilson’s Stick to a couple of other series in development. We can now add season two of Beef to this list, though at least this show tries to explain the appeal of hitting the green—or, at least, the country club. “The golf, the courts, the exclusivity, the discretion. People need a place where they can feel safe, where they can pretend everything is okay. It’s the land of make-believe,” says Josh (Oscar Isaac) at the beginning of the clip.

Of course, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be long before that bubble is popped. This season’s beef will focus on “a Gen-Z couple witnesses an alarming fight between their Millennial boss and his wife,” per the season’s official synopsis. The synopsis continues: “Newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton), both lower-level staff at a country club, become entangled in the unraveling marriage of their General Manager, Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan). Through favors and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-hung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho).”

The second Beef in this anthology will hit Netflix on April 16. In addition to the trailer, the streamer also shared some new images from the season, which you can see below.
