After a handful of cancellations earlier this year, Billy Joel has now cancelled all of his scheduled concert dates. The musician announced the news with an Instagram post, wherein he also shared a diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus. The condition has led to “problems with hearing, vision and balance,” reads the statement, problems that have been exacerbated during recent performances. “Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period,” the statement continues. “He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”

“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” adds Joel himself at the end of the post. The canceled dates ran from July 2025 until July 2026, and included dates that would have seen Joel take the stage with Sting, Stevie Nicks, and Rod Stewart.

In March, Joel postponed several dates after sharing that he had undergone surgery for an undisclosed condition. Though he won’t be on the stadium stage this summer, Joel will still premiere a two-part documentary Billy Joel: So It Goes at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival before eventually bringing it to HBO sometime this summer.
