Bruce Springsteen to tell the few stories he hasn’t told on stage in new autobiography

Hey how you doin’ out there tonight? That’s good, that’s good. You know, it’s been a long time getting here, from writing songs on my $18 guitar my mother bought me to those first gigs with The Castiles to this tour celebrating The River. Me and the band, we were performing at that Super Bowl halftime show in 2009 and I said to myself, I need to start putting this story on paper immediately. I walked off that stage, grabbed a pen, and started to turn these thoughts and memories into words.

After years of agony, pain, and heartbreak, those words were transformed into Born To Run, my autobiography which will be hitting shelves on September 27, 2016. Like I said in my book, writing about yourself is a funny business. But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I’ve tried to do this.…ain’t that right, Steve?

You may think you’ve heard it in my songs, those poetic, epic tales of love, losers, and rock ‘n’ roll, but with this account you’re going to delve into what I call the poetry, danger, and darkness that fueled my imagination.
