CBS announces renewals for virtually everything but ¡Rob!
In news that will greatly excite anyone who’s anxiously awaiting the chance to spend next fall and winter in front of a TV, watching everything that's on the air already, CBS has announced that it has renewed pretty much everything on its schedule that doesn’t star an underperforming former Saturday Night Live cast member, isn’t a CSI spin-off, and is not laboring under a curse levied on it by a Vatican assassin warlock, Hitfix is reporting. Among the newer shows, Person Of Interest and 2 Broke Girls will coming back for second seasons in the fall, while A Gifted Man, the sophisticated urban drama in which a ghost encourages Nite Owl to be a better doctor, and the inaccurately titled Unforgettable will be spending the next several nights sitting at home, waiting for the phone to ring. (That anachronistic shout-out to a time when people didn’t carry their phones around with them is a loving tribute to the stereotypically aging and hipness-challenged CBS viewer, whose allegiance has made it the currently highest-rated network.)
