Conan O'Brien releasing two records next week
As we reported back in June, Conan O’Brien had an impromptu jam with Jack White during an appearance at Nashville’s Third Man Records, while teasing that the whole thing would end up on vinyl one of these days. It turns out he wasn’t joking: Third Man is releasing not one but two O’Brien records early next week. The first, “And They Call Me Mad?”, is a 7-inch featuring an interview with White on one side, and on the flipside, O’Brien doing “an improvised spoken-word take on the legend of Frankenstein.” The other, Conan O’Brien Live At Third Man, is a 12-inch collection of that Nashville performance, with O’Brien and White getting together on the Eddie Cochran’s “20 Flight Rock,” plus O’Brien’s own renditions of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” Radiohead’s “Creep,” and Willie Nelson’s “On The Road Again.”
